How to Get Help

Asking for help for a mental health or substance use disorder is sometimes the hardest thing you can do. But it's also the most important step toward recovery. Many mental health and substance use issues won't just go away on their own. You may need the help of professionals to get better. You may need special supports or medications to help you. You may benefit from talking to a professional counselor or to others in your situation. Whatever your problem, the important thing is to call and ask for help.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CALL?

We will ask you some questions about your health needs, insurance status, family history, medications and substance use.

If you are eligible for public services for mental health and/ or substance use disorders, you will be given a screening over the telephone.  If you meet the medical criteria for treatment, you will be given an appointment with a health care professional.

If you are not eligible to receive CMH services, we will make every effort to refer you to another health care organization that can help you.

There may be a cost for treatment based on your income.
